Enjoy an exciting ride as the only passenger in a Stearman biplane. The Owls Head Transportation Museum would love for you to experience the thrill of this plane. Ask the 60,000 men who learned to fly during WWII in what plane they were taught and the answer will probably be the Stearman, nicknamed the "Yellow Peril". After the war, this plane was used as a crop duster, aerobatic performer and sport plane.

Subject to weather and pilot availability. Rider must be 18 years or older. You must present this certificate to pilot.

Expires 2 years from date of issue: 10/15/2020

Valid through 2021 and 2022 flying season

Rides are scheduled on a first come first served bais at events. You can arrange a flight through our aircraft conservator who can be reached at 207 594 4418.

We recommend that you call the museum the morning you plan to visit to be sure the planes will be flying that day.

When you arrive, your certificate will admit you for free.

Please be sure to show it at the admissions desk or booth on your way in. Staff will direct you to the Info Booth or admissions desk to begin the pre-boarding process. They will give you a flight line pass and direct you to the flight line gate to take your flight.
