Artist Statement:

Dr. Carrière is an artist, who expresses his art by painting and creating sculptures.  He is the winner of the International Design Award Delta Gold ADI-FAD 2009, showcasing his true creative abilities. Dr. Carrière enjoys giving back to the community and donating paintings and other artwork in support of charities, such as Smile for a Lifetime. 

 

Biography:

Dr. Luis Carrière lives in Barcelona and obtained his dental degree from the University of Complutense in Madrid in 1991. He then attended the University of Barcelona, where he completed his Orthodontic training and received his Master of Science in Orthodontics in 1994. In 2006, he received his Doctorate in Orthodontics, Cum Laude, from the University of Barcelona.

Dr. Carrière was the Winner of the ?Joseph E. Johnson Award? in 1995 and the International Design Award Delta Gold ADI-FAD 2009 for the ?Carriere Distalizer MB.? Dr. Carrière is a Member of the Editorial Review Board for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO) and contributing editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics (JCO).

He is also a Numerary Member of the European Royal Academy of Doctors. Dr. Carrière is an invited professor of several Orthodontic departments of universities in the US, South America, Europe, and Asia. He lectures globally in addition to treating patients in his private practice in Barcelona, Spain.


Dr. Carrière also is recognized internationally for his invention of the Carrière 3D Motion Appliance and the Carrière SLX 3D Self-Ligating bracket.
