These earrings are part of the MoonPearl Series. Dorothee took the idea of the 'hand of the maker', and combined it with the notion of a pearl's home ? the shell. At first glance, the individual sterling elements seem to be shells. They are, in fact, hand-fabricated elements, molded in wax and then cast in sterling silver. Their texture is that of fingerprints: crafted by the hands of the maker, presented in an elegant slight curve. The MoonShell Three earrings have three such shell and print combinations.
Dorothée Rosen creates in her studio in Halifax. Her work is available on her website or through several galleries in North America.
