Item Special Note
Lorraine Gilbert has been producing photographic artworks and exhibiting since 1978. She has works in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery, among several others. Her earliest work (1980's) pushed the limits of colour film by photographing Vancouver neighbourhoods at dusk and during the night. Her most recent work continues her interests in landscape, forests and trees.
Lorraine Gilbert produit des ?uvres photographiques et expose depuis 1978. Ses ?uvres font partie des collections du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada et de la Vancouver Art Gallery, entre autres. Ses premières ?uvres (années 1980) repoussent les limites de la pellicule couleur en photographiant les quartiers de Vancouver au crépuscule et pendant la nuit. Son travail le plus récent poursuit son intérêt pour le paysage, les forêts et les arbres.
