Charles-Eric Laperrière died on April 21, 2023 in the sanctuary of his studio at the age of 31. The posthumous reproduction of his self-portrait is part of a project of love and advocacy by his partner Lee Rose to help reduce the stigma and shame that often surround and consume those who live with mental illness. All proceeds from the sale of the numbered series of 31 prints of this self-portrait and other works by the artist will benefit the Charles-Eric Laperrière Memorial Fund, which will fund projects and initiatives that support people and caregivers who are navigating complex mental health journeys.
Charles-Éric Laperrière est décédé le 21 avril 2023 dans le sanctuaire de son studio à l'âge de 31 ans. La reproduction posthume de son autoportrait fait partie d'un projet d'amour et de soutien lancé par son conjoint Lee Rose pour contribuer à réduire la stigmatisation et la honte qui entourent et rongent souvent ceux qui vivent avec une maladie mentale. Les profits de la vente de la série de 31 de cet autoportrait et d'autres ?uvres de l'artiste seront versés au Fonds commémoratif Charles-Éric Laperrière, qui financera des projets et des initiatives qui soutiennent les personnes et les soignants qui cheminent des parcours de santé mentale complexes.
