Item Description
Off the Grid: Celebrating our community through food.
Eight wonderful CDS host families will share their culinary skills with 20 very lucky CDS families, cooking authentic dishes from Ethiopia, Iran, Peru, India, China, Nepal, Mexico, and the Philippines.
No food trucks or long lines here.
Typically an experience only a "foodie" would get to participate in, this is a rare opportunity to break bread with members of our own community who offer to share their culture and their talents with us. There's no restaurant in San Francisco that could offer this many different cuisines under one roof.
Some menu items from last year include doro, an Ethiopian chicken stew; a Persian eggplant and lentil dish with aged yogurt; and, for desert, flan, a super delicious, custardy sweet from Mexico. There will be plenty of vegetarian options, as well as kid-friendly foods.
What better way to come together and celebrate this amazing community than through food?
Item Special Note
