DONATE TO HELP FUND THE GARDENING AND NATURE PROGRAMS AT OSSINING SCHOOLS!

Item Special Note

Educational research has shown the experiential outdoor education can enhance student achievement, particularly in science and mathematics. Your contribution will help fund projects that represent a significant opportunity for the students to engage in authentic activities that support classroom learning.

Our educators have the opportunity to enrich the students understanding and appreciation of their natural habitat and the connection betw een their lives and the land. Through working in the gardens, students will help see how plants grow and all the necessary environmental conditions that support life. They will learn about how agriculture, humans and animals are connected. 

In addition, the Colonial Garden at Claremont provides a valuable service to the community by donating crops that are harvested to approximately 60 families from The Food Bank of Westchester. 
 
When you donate, you make it possible for us to support grants that will, among other things, maintain and expand the gardens at the elementary schools, providing them with the supplies that they need. In addition, these funds will aid in the Development of an after school gardening program at Claremont School.

• $50 (Could purchase buckets, spades, shovels and small containers for field work)
• $100 (Could provide much needed compost for the gardens of our schools)
• $250 (Could provide a watering system for the Claremont garden)
• $500 (Could provide plants, seeds, and other planting materials for an entire grade)

There are Growing through Gardens "auction items" created for $50, $100, $250, and $500.
