(Grounding Blend: Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile.)
This one has been my favorite ever since I was introduced to dÅÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ?TERRA 3 years ago. I've put it on practically every day since. For stress, anxiety, meditation, neurological function. Apply a couple drops to the wrists, rub together, inhale through the nose, and apply remainder behind ears.
DEEP BLUE
(Soothing Blend: Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, Helichrysum.)
I find myself using this one more frequently these days. My neck and shoulders have been particularly tight and rubbing this oil (or cream) in really relaxes my muscles instantly. It's also great for headaches, fatigue and congestion. Apply topically as needed.
EUACALYPTUS
Good old Eucalyptus. There's rarely a shower I take where I don't sprinkle a few drops of this amazing oil in.
Top properties: Antiviral, antibacterial, expectorant, analgesic, insecticidal, hypotensive, disinfectant, catalyst.
FRANKINCENSE
For any of the big feelings that come my way and applied to my skin daily. Try blending Frankincense with some fractionated coconut oil, Wild Orange and Lavender, and massaging it over your entire body after a shower. Sooo good! (A tip I picked up from foodalchemy.com.au)
Top Properties: Immunostimulant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, restorative.
LAVENDER
Never without it. For sleep, stress, burns, cuts allergies... Ingest, diffuse, apply topically. So good for you!
Top properties: Sedative, astringent, antihisthamine,, antispasmodic, antidepressant, analgesic, relaxing, antispasmodic, antibacterial, regenerative, cardiotonic.
PEPPERMINT
This one is always in my bag in beadlet AND oil form. After a big meal or if I'm feeling any indigestion or bad breath, nothing's better than popping one of those beadlets. For headaches, congestion, digestion, Peppermint is one of the most versatile oils to have in your arsenal.
Top properties: Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, warming, invigorating, cooling, expectorant, vascoconstrictor, stimulating.
PETITGRAIN
A fantastic alternative to Lavender (practically identical properties), this oil is brand new to dÅÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ?TERRA as of this month. Last night I doused myself with the fractionated coconut oil and a few drops of Petitgrain to wind me down for a good night's sleep and it was heavenly.
ROSEMARY
This is the oil I love to use in my Yoga practice for some reason. I also like to give myself and the kids a nice head massage with this oil after showering to since it's great for hair health, neurological function and a good lice preventative! Rosemary is beautiful diffused as well, especially when blended with lavender and/or peppermint.
Top properties: Analgesic, thins mucus, improves brain function, stimulant.
VETIVER
Vetiver is the base in most perfumes. This deep and earthy scent becomes very addicting once you experience it. I love to blend with citrus oils for a day scent, and apply behind my ears before bed. It's wonderful for calming the central nervous system.
Top properties: Stimulant, tonic, sedative, antiseptic, immunostimulant, vermifuge, antispasmodic, rubaficient.
WILD ORANGE
The best stress reducing mood lifter combo of all - I think anyway. I love combing wild orange with peppermint in my hands for an inhale or in the diffuser. I also love to combine it with vetiver. And it's fantastic in a Margarita!
Top properties: Energizing, sedative, anti-carcinoma, carminative, antiseptic, antidepressant, immunostimulant.
