Help us Honor Our Past, Remember Those Who Have Passed On by becoming the sponsor for the 2020 Colma Cemetery Clean-Up.
The Center will conduct its youth and family community Clean-Up Day at the Japanese Cemetery in Colma.
Your $1,000 co-sponsorship will cover the costs for the items listed below:
- New cleaning supplies and tools (brushes, sponges, gloves, rakes, soap, etc.)
- Lunch bento for 100 volunteers
- Equipment rental
- Flowers to place on gravesites
- Additional resources needed to organize event.
Often times we find ourselves too busy in our daily lives to honor our past and remember those who have passed on. The Japanese Cemetery in Colma is a unique cultural treasure that deserves our attention, our respect, OUR TIME. The place represents our history, our loved ones, friends and family. For many of us, it’s the place is where our grandparents, great grandparents, parents, family and friends are laid to rest. For all of us, the loved ones that rest there represent our history. During our lunch break, we will have a brief history of the cemetery.
