DINING, CA- Dine under the stars surrounded by vineyards, feasting on fabulous cuisine prepared by celebrity chef, Kerry Simon and drinking from the cellar of famed winemaker, Jim Clendenen. Old friends Kerry and Jim were both longtime friends of Jimmy Mancbach and they are coming together to create a spectacular evening of food and wine to honor their friend.
This sensational dinner for fourteen people will take place at Lakuna in Los Alamos, Jim Clendenen's incredible oasis of an organic olive orchard, vineyard and market garden, with its exquisite views. Together Kerry and Jim will create a gourmet meal using traditional techniques of outdoor cooking of grilling over live oak and using wood-burning ovens that will appeal to the most discerning foodie. This coveted lot will be a most unique feast, accompanied by marvelous wines pulled from Jim's personal collection.
Kerry Simon's Las Vegas restaurant, Simon Kitchen and Bar was named one of Best New Restaurants in 2003 by Esquire Magazine. The critical response to Simon's special brand of culinary genius was noticed as early as 1991 when Rolling Stone Magazine named him one of the top personalities of that year and bestowed him with the unofficial title of "Rock n' Roll Chef." In 2005, Chef Simon, in the Food Network's Kitchen Stadium, challenged female Iron Chef Cat Cora to a culinary duel and came home victorious.
Master Vintner and Founder of Au Bon Climat, Jim Clendenen is internationally recognized for his classically-styled wines and the recipient of numerous awards and accolades over the years. Jim is also known for his culinary talents and can frequently be found preparing terrific meals for friends at his winery in the Bien Nacido Vineyard.
