Annual membership for two and two season tickets to the Kingsley Art Club Lecture Series
This package includes annual membership for two in the Kingsley Art Club and season tickets to the 2012-13 Kingsley Lecture Series (7 lectures in September, October and November, 2012; and January, February, March, and April, 2013). Lectures are held the third Wednesday of most months (the second Wednesday in November) at 1:15 PM in the Auditorium at the Crocker Museum located at 216 O Street in Sacramento. Tom Killion (pictured above), an artist recently featured in the Sacramento Bee, was the most recent speaker.
About the Kingsley Art Club
The Kingsley was established in 1892 as a ladies club meeting in member’s homes. Meetings were moved to the Crocker Art Museum in 1927, and we have been meeting there since then. We have sponsored 75 art exhibitions for emerging artists, and our monthly lectures examine an interesting mix of traditional art forms and cutting edge techniques—a balance of old and new, traditional and very modern art.
The Kingsley Art Club promotes the knowledge and appreciation of art among its members and the community, and encourages the teaching of the arts.
Highlights of the upcoming year include:
- 7 lectures by artists, curators and art historians. Renowned artists Gregory Kondos and Tom Killio are two artists who were recent speakers
- Annual Merit Awards Luncheon and Art Show
- Field Trips to various Northern California locations to attend art exhibitions and other art activities
- Continuing our Art Docent Program at C.P. Huntington School, including sponsoring field trips to the Crocker Museum and a visit to a garden where the children get a taste of plein air painting
- Sponsoring a regional juried high school art show
- Enjoying our home at the new Crocker Museum
- AND MORE!
Our meetings are held on weekday afternoons, so our members tend to be retirees, moms with children in school or people with flexible work schedules. We welcome all ages, and are working to have a diverse membership.
