Item Description
Spend a sybaritic weekend encamped in an estate at the heart of the Napa Valley, where the first shot was fired in the American Wine Revolution, and discover the secrets of California’s triumph at the 1976 tasting against French wines as depicted in the recent film Bottle Shock. Up to 9 couples are invited to spend three nights (January 28 - January 31, 2010) at a European styled hacienda where each guest room has its own outdoor access to a patio or deck overlooking breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. For your lounging and entertainment whims, the three-acre compound features extensive gardens, a bocce court, and pool courtyard including 10 person spa and pool house equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen, steam shower, sauna, gym, and billiard table.
The piece-de-résistance, is the 15-seat high-definition theater with luxurious leather reclining seats, where Marc & Brenda Lhormer, locally-based producing partner’s of Bottle Shock and the founders and co-creators of the new Napa Valley Film Festival, will host a “Judgement of Paris”-style tasting and special screening of the movie. After viewing the movie, pepper Marc and Brenda with questions about the events depicted in the film as well as behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Then you’ll experience for yourself, how California Chardonnays and Cabernets stand up to French Burgundies and Bordeaux with a blind tasting of your own to rival the famed original in the Paris of 1976.
