Item Description
Enjoy the humour and wisdom of First Move's latest creation: "Practice Peace: Proceed until Apprehended". This shirt came in to being to support the work of The Berkana Institute, co-founded by Meg Wheatley, and each time one goes out in to the world, $3.00 is shared with Berkana. Say's First Move owner Ellen Kozub, "We love Meg; we love Berkana; and we love their work, helping build leadership skills in women in less developed countries, using the tools of conversation, community and collaboration."
Founders Kozub and Liz Bohlke also say that "for the world to change, we each need to make the first move", a realization that started with hearing the phrase "May All Beings Be Happy Beginning With You"
Exceptionally soft organic cotton, long sleeves and a slight scoop neck make this a year round 'go to piece'. Fits true to size, but if you prefer a looser fit, one size up will do the trick.
First Move products help you do three things:
- Extend a genuine wish for the happiness of all beings.
- Identify yourself as part of the global community cultivating kindness and generosity.
- Support organizations working to make the world a better place. (A minimum of $2.00 for each item purchased.)
About the shirts Ellen Kozub says, "the 'blank' we use comes from a company called Aurum Organics. All are welcome to check their website to see their philosophy - one of the reasons we use them - as well as the fact that Aurum is a sister company to Comfort Colors, a small, US based company. They get their shirts made in different countries and they do the research. Different lots may be made in different countries; this lot is from India. The shirts are then printed here in Flagstaff. We use another small, family owned company to do this."
