Item Description
This trip for two is for the week of September 18 - 24, 2010 to Kodiak Island, Alaska and features:
• A stay at the Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge: a beautiful location in the remote wilderness surrounded by ocean and 2,000 foot mountains with amazing views of the surrounding flora and fauna.
• Five days of fully guided and outfitted fishing and sea life viewing during your stay. (The Lodge recommends bringing your own favorite personal fly-fishing equipment if you would like to fly-fish.)
• An opportunity to target Silver Salmon, Steelhead, Dolly Varden, and small Rainbow Trout. Salt water fishing for halibut, fantastic marine mammal viewing, and other wildlife viewing opportunities also abound!
• Accommodation in a heated private guest cabin with beautiful views, cold water half bath, comfortable mattresses, fresh flannel sheets, and blankets. Each cabin has four built in bunk style beds, or one bed can be converted to a queen.
• Hot tub, hot showers, and banya (sauna), including fresh, clean towels, soap and shampoo just steps away.
• Wireless internet and a laundry facility for guests’ use.
• Home cooked meals in the comfortable main lodge, featuring tasty hors d’oeuvres, local Alaskan Seafood, fresh salads, choice cuts of meat, daily prepared breads, and delicious desserts.
• Complimentary beer on tap locally brewed by the Kodiak Island Brewing Company and wine. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite beverages if desired.
• Complete and daily fish processing, vacuum sealing, labeling, and freezing of the catch you chose to harvest.
• Round trip transportation by boat or a local sea plane charter to Raspberry Island Remote Lodge from the Kodiak City Airport. (Your airfare to Kodiak City Airport is not included in this package.* The trip includes an arrival day-Sept. 18, 5 days of fishing, and a departure day-Sept.24.)
- * The Lodge recommends arranging flight transportation via ERA Aviation flight 890 departing Anchorage at 1:30 pm, and a return flight with ERA Aviation flight 891 returning back into Kodiak at 4:05 pm.

Item Special Note
In the words of a successful bidder who traveled to Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge in September, 2009:
"I have been fishing all of my life but after my cancer surgery, the Casting For Recovery weekend revitalized my interest in fly fishing. The on-line auction provided me and my husband an opportunity to go together on a once-in-a-lifetime trip. The week at the Raspberry Island Lodge was fabulous - good fishing and sightseeing, a wonderful
facility and food and delightful people.
We could never have put this trip together without Casting For Recovery. I am certain whomever buys next year's trip will have as exciting an adventure as we did." - Joan B.
