Item Description

You're bidding on a place in an upcoming 2009/2010 Write To Change The World Seminar presented by the acclaimed OpEd Project. Choose from already-set dates in SF, DC, LA, and TBA dates in Boston and NYC.

The OpEd Project is an initiative to expand public debate, with an immediate emphasis on enlarging the pool of women experts who are accessing (and accessible to) our nation's key print and online forums-which are a gateway into public debate, feed all other media, and are a hub of thought leadership.

This seminar will push you to think more carefully and more expansively about your knowledge, your ideas, and the causes that you care about, and write about them to make a difference. We will explore the source of credibility and how to establish it; the patterns and elements of a powerful argument; the difference between being "right" and being effective; how to preach beyond the choir, how to think bigger about what you know, and how to make a bigger impact on the world. This seminar is about much more than writing op-eds--it's about thought leadership in concrete terms. It is about empowering you to find your voice and make a difference, and it is about the collective impact we can all make by doing so.

Note: This seminar is for women only (trans women welcome) and is ideal for both newcomers and for those who have taken a basic op-ed writing seminar before.
