Item Description
Calendar for 2010 with a 20th century woodblock print for each month. Each print is by a recognized shin hanga ("new print") artist, shows a traditional Japanese landscape scene. Shin hanga prints are recognized as artful and dynamic images with a view of Japan which may be considered somewhat nostalgic, but is also tranquil and lovely.
Each print is enhanced and complemented by an appropriate Japanese haiku.
Not only are American holidays and dates noted, but also many other cultural and world holidays.
Note that the front and back images included here do not show the color quite as vibrantly as the printed calendar will.
Item Special Note
This calendar is completely non-political, so it will provide some slight reprieve --a moment of beauty-- when the news has taken a toll on you!
It is privately printed, so you will not be able to find it at your local mall.
