This beautiful opal is from the Coober Pedy Mining Area in Southern Australia. Coober Pedy, originally known as Stuart's Range field, is the largest supplier of opal in the world. Situated some one thousand kilometers north of Adelaide, it is home to about 5,000 people, who directly or indirectly make a living from the success of the town's opal miners, and the nearly 100,000 tourists who call in each year to marvel at what is still regarded as the last frontier of Australia's wild outback.

Size 7 1/2. Natural Australian solid crystal opal ring with diamonds in 14k yellow gold (2.97 grams). Opal is a 9 x 6 mm oval with blue-green flash. Opal is 0.74 carats, the six diamonds are .03 carats.
