The Sonoran Glass Art Academy (SGAA) is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, founded in 2001, dedicated to promoting appreciation and awareness of glass artists and glass as a visual arts medium through education. SGAA has the unique position of being the only public access glass arts educational facility in the desert southwest. Our intention is to enrich our community by providing a supportive environment in which glass artists, students, and enthusiasts can come together and share knowledge through craftsmanship. We aim to increase our student's knowledge of glass as an arts medium, as well as to boost their confidence, creativity, and artistic capabilities.

Programming includes classes in furnace glassblowing, lampworking, fusing/slumping, and kiln-casting. We have a consistent team of gifted instructors, as well as a variety of world renowned visiting instructors. Classes at the Academy are limited to eight students, allowing for maximum one-on-one attention. SGAA offers private instruction for ages 13 and upwards. Additionally, in partnership with the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, we offer college credits in glass arts.

SGAA is open year round and we welcome visitors to our facilities to watch classes or browse our gallery. Our gallery is chock full of beautiful art glass gifts and sculptures made by faculty and students; all sales from our gallery support SGAA's mission of providing glass art education to the Southwest and beyond.
