Item Special Note
Barrett is trained in both art and architecture and believes deeply in the process of making things by hand in today's increasingly pixelated world. While time speeds up around us, in her drawings time feels slow, conveying timeless visual information which flickers between landscape, fabric and biomorphic matter. Barrett's work has been shown at Whitespace and Spruill Galleries in Atlanta. She works as a designer at Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects. Previously, Barrett taught architecture and drawing at Wesleyan University among other places.
