LORD FARQUAAD

Our Little Lord Farquaad makes up for his diminutive size with multiple layers of glitz.  It all starts with gold glitter and spandex tights that are topped with a doublet of red sequin cloth crisscrossed with 2½ yards of gold and black braid stitched atop blue velvet ribbon with a square amber “jewel” bridging each intersection. Poofy short sleeves are made from alternating bands of blue and gold sequin cloth with each vertical seam covered in blue and gold rattail flanked by 4½ yards of miniature red rickrack.  The lower arm is fitted with red velvet that extends into the blue velvet gauntlets.  The blue velvet skirt is topped with six blue sequin cloth panels striped with 2 yards of red rattail.  The diamond quilted gold leatherette belt is edged in gold satin and is cinched with a glittering silver buckle decorated in “gems” and rhinestones.  The knee high boots and hat are made from red and blue sequin cloth and the hat is also banded with gold metallic braid and red stones with an additional layer of pattern created with crisscrossed blue trim.  A stiff blue sequined neckpiece outlined in rhinestones reinforces Farquaad’s upright (uptight) posture.  As if that is not enough…our bear wears a floor length blue satin cape decorated with a grid made from 10 yards of metallic gold braid that is highlighted with 486 hand glued sequins and outlined in blue sequin and cord braid and 6½ feet of rhinestones.  It is clasped at the shoulders with two large blue faceted stones circled with rhinestones.  Complete with two large “gemstone” rings he sports his signature pageboy hairstyle and arched eyebrows.
As stunning as all of this “bling” might appear, the real magic happens mysteriously beneath the cape.  (be nice!)  If you  sneak a peak you’ll discover a pair of black trousered legs strapped into black quilted kneepads, which are in turn attached to his sequined boots.  This little Lord is worth his height in gold!
