CARMEN BERNSTEIN

She may be the tough producer who has taken her show for an out-of-town tryout at Boston’s Colonial Theatre, but even with a version of “The New England Patriot,” which featured scathing reviews for her current show, still in her hand Carmen looks stunning in a stylistic replica of the black brocaded, empire waist dress worn by Debra Monk on Broadway. The outer shift coat is of the same black brocade fabric with added black faux fur trim collar and cuffs.  All fabrics have been scaled down to match the scale of the bear.  Ms. Bernstein’s hair is swept up in a modified French Twist and silver bead earrings and salmon pink embroidered lips accent her face.  A brass framed muslin stage hamper has been hand built to resemble the one used in the show and even has “Colonial Theatre” stenciled on both sides although from the reviews of “Robbin’ Hood,” we are not sure how long the show will run!  Ah well “It’s A Business” and “Show People,” such as Carmen, will make sure the show goes on!
