Item Description

Get ready to be swept away by Pirates!

As The Park Slope Reader puts it, "The Story Pirates won't give you scurvy or make you walk the plank; however, they will challenge your child's imagination and prove that his or her words are powerful tools that are worth celebrating."

Whenever the Pirates take the stage, we are armed with furry monsters, Viking costumes, flying cats, and sacks of treasure for an experience that shows kids the power of writing in a way they'll never forget. That's right; everything the Story Pirates perform is based on a story written by a kid, from kung fu ninja babies fighting crime to the eternal love between the devil and some guy she met at Starbucks.

Taking our cues from kids themselves, it's a world where money grows on heads and fish rain from the sky. Called "crazy entertaining" by the Daily Show's Jon Stewart, the Story Pirates have been performing at schools and in theaters across the country for six years.

This package entitles you to reserve a party of up to 6 people for an upcoming Story Pirates show, where you can see your own child’s story performed. It may also be applied toward the cost of tickets to one of our popular birthday parties in Midtown.

If you’re new to Story Pirates, here’s how it works: Send in a story written by your child. The story can be any length and about any topic. Pick a date with the help of a Story Pirate, then invite your friends and family to watch as professional actors and comedians bring your child's story to life. It's an experience you will never forget.

Your child will have the opportunity to have his or her picture taken and placed on the Pirates' Author Wall of Fame, as well as receive a certificate during an on-stage ceremony conducted at the end of the show.

We perform throughout the school year each Saturday at 2pm (select performances on holidays and over the summer) at The Drama Book Shop at 250 W. 40th between 7th and 8th Avenue
