Would you like to tour KGO TV in San Francisco with Sports Anchor Larry Beil? The winner of this item will be able to take along up to nine friends or family members to the downtown SF studios of KGO TV. We are fortunate to be able to offer this item as Larry and his wife are parents of a MV Marching Band student.
First, you and your guests will take the ferry out of Alameda Harbor Bay to San Francisco courtesy of 10 round-trip tickets from the Alameda/Oakland Ferry. Set out in the morning and spend the first part of your day playing tourist in San Francisco - begin with a coffee as you watch the world bustle by, browse the shops around Pier 39, visit the Aquarium or take a cruise or bus tour... the possibilities are endless!
When you're ready, make your way to KGO TV, a few blocks away from the ferry terminal. You and your guests may show up about 5 p.m., tour the station and meet the various on-air personalities -- Cheryl Jennings, Dan Ashley, Carolyn Johnson -- whoever happens to be on set that day. See all the behind-the-scenes activities needed to produce TV news. Watch the 5:30 p.m. news, including Larry's segment at about 5:45 p.m., and spend time learning all about how TV news shows are created.

Larry Beil: Larry Beil joined ABC7 as a weekend sports anchor in January 2001. He brings to the station nearly 20 years in sports broadcasting experience. Larry currently anchors sports coverage for the weekday ABC7 News at 11 p.m. and ABC7 News at 9 p.m. on Your TV20.
Prior to joining the ABC7 Sports team, Larry was a SportsCenter anchor at ESPN from 1995. He also hosted ESPN's college football scoreboard shows and half time updates, provided play-by-play coverage on college football, men's college basketball and the Arena Football League.
From 1989-1995, Larry was a weekend sports anchor and sports reporter for KTVU in Oakland. While there he also covered Bay Area college basketball teams, including Cal and Stanford.
Before his first Bay Area stint, Larry worked in Honolulu at KGMB from 1982-1989, serving the last three years as sports director. From 1986 to 1989, he was the voice of the University of Hawaii football and basketball teams.
Larry grew up in the Bronx, NY before moving to Hawaii with his family at the age of 17. He's a graduate of the University of Hawaii-Manoa with a degree in journalism.
