Item Description
Greg Barnes created this painting of the valley floor and the San Miguel River just for the Telluride Medical Center fundraiser. The painting is 10” X 14” and is on display here at the Telluride Conference Center tonight.
Greg received formal training and a BFA in 1985 at Wake Forest University. Under the instruction of many fine teachers he learned painting, printmaking, sculpture, and figure drawing. He is accomplished in both pastels and oil painting.
Landscapes are Greg’s love. He enjoys painting on location, and as a result of working quickly, leans towards impressionism. A mix of realistic and impressionistic elements give his pieces a life of there own, while a free and creative use of color punctuates his style.
Maintaining a studio/gallery in Charlotte, NC, Greg also travels the country exhibiting at outdoor art festivals and teaching plein air workshops.
He is proudly represented by the Chroma Gallery in Savannah, GA.
