Item Description
Columbus School for Girls alumna and author, Molly Morris, takes you on a backpacking trip to the world’s most beautiful places in her new picture book, Mountains, Meadows, and Waterfalls.
The Morris family loves backpacking. In a span of twenty-four years, they went on seven backpacking trips, each trip recorded on Morris’ journal. Author Morris initially thought of writing an instructional book on food packaging for backpacking trips, but ended up narrating her family’s short journeys to the mountains. Her book, Mountains, Meadows, and Waterfalls, vividly recounts the family’s hiking and camping experiences in different places, starting from the 70’s when their children were still young.
Author Morris covers information helpful for people who want to go backpacking – including lists and food packaging information. She also embellishes her manuscript with colorful photos of their memorable travels to Wyoming, Northwestern Montana, and other places, to expose readers to the beauty of nature.
Through her book, Morris shows the admirable togetherness of her family. She further shows the importance of becoming familiar with nature in the age of environmentalism.
84 pages, color pictures, soft cover.
