Item Description

Winning bidder will receive a gift certificate for a ten day/nine night stay at a beautiful Lake Tahoe Cabin. Located just south of Tahoe City on a mountain overlooking Lake Tahoe, this mountain cabin is a wonderful vacation home for family and friends.

Built in 1980, the cabin is beautifully furnished with all the comforts of home.  It has four bedrooms and three full baths, including a master suite, and can accommodate up to 8 guests.  There are lots of windows highlighting the lovely wooded area surrounding the cabin and a “peek” of the Lake itself.  The kitchen has just recently been remodeled and now features a Miele stove.  The family room includes a large screen plasma TV, DVD and CD player, as well as internet connectivity.

One of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Tahoe offers something for everyone.  A ten day/nine night stay will allow your party to arrive on a Friday night and stay through the next week, departing the following Sunday.

In winter, activities include skiing at the world famous Squaw Valley Resort and Alpine Ski Resort, both located approximately 15 minutes from the cabin.  Or ski with the locals and try Homewood Resort, located approximately 5 minutes from the cabin.

Page Meadows, part of the Tahoe Rim Trail/Pacific Crest Trail network, is 5 minutes by foot from the cabin at the top of the mountain, and offers plenty of snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

The cabin is located 5 minutes from Tahoe City, with convenient grocery stores and wonderful restaurants, including Jake’s by the Lake.  Also 5 minutes from the cabin is Sunnyside Resort, a bar and restaurant which, like Jake’s by the Lake, features incredible views of Lake Tahoe.  Summer or winter, nothing beats a mai tai at Sunnyside while watching the sun set over Lake Tahoe.

In summer, there is plenty of hiking to be found at nearby Ellis Peak, or at Page Meadows, or again at Squaw Valley Resort.  Squaw Valley Resort also features a world class golf course with views that surpass the course itself.  Sunnyside Resort is a marina with every water sport imaginable, from kayaking and canoeing to water ski lessons and jet skis.

The beach at Chambers Landing, with its own restaurant and bar, provides just the spot for enjoying the sun and reading a book on the beach or going for a dip in the Lake.

For those in search of a little pampering, the spa located at Inn at Squaw Creek provides all the usual beauty treatments, including massage, facials, manicures, and pedicures.

There is also gambling at South Shore, approximately 45 minutes from the cabin in the summer, or at Incline Village on the North Shore (approximately 30 minutes away).  The owners of this cabin live in nearby Sacramento and will be happy to assist with any travel plans.

Some additional details:  The cabin is 1800 sq. feet, with four levels and lots of stairs.  All four bedrooms have a queen bed.  The cabin is a no smoking cabin, and pets are not allowed.  You’ll want to bring a hair dryer, or better yet, leave it at home and go outside and play!

Item Special Note

The cabin is a no smoking cabin, and pets are not allowed. The time of travel is to be arranged directly with the owners, and must be used within the next 12 months (by Feb. 28, 2011)  There is a fully refundable $500 security/damage deposit, and a non-refundable $150 cleaning deposit.
