For over 80 years, Kit Carson Lodge has been providing a superb vacation experience in the high sierra. Kit Carson Lodge is situated on a high alpine lake surrounded by granite peaks and tall pines. Located in the California Sierra 45 minutes south of Lake Tahoe, Carson Lodge is one of those old destination resorts that they do not build anymore. Wood, stone, water and spectacular scenery but most of all the quiet!

Kit Carson Lodge is probably the opposite of where you are coming from. It doesn't have the lights; it doesn't have the crowds. It is quiet and it is beautiful. You can hear yourself think. At night you can hear a pin drop and the sky is so big, so many stars. Check-in/Check-out

Check-in time is 4:00 pm. We suggest that you arrive at 4:00 pm or before dark. Daylight will make getting to the cottage much easier. No check-ins after 9:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am. Late departures will result in an additional day’s charge.

Restrictions

The policy of no smoking, and no pets. No electrical appliances, such as hair blow dryers, electric coffee pots, etc., are permitted.

Lodging is limited to midweek (Sunday through Thursday), August 30 - October 9, 2010. Dinner served Tuesday through Saturday 6 PM - 9 PM (no dinner Sun & Mon): Sunday Brunch 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
