Item Description
This one-of-a-kind mosaic of 12 year old Burke Elementary School student and Louie’s Kids program participant Auja Ravenel is one in the series of those created by the students of The School of the Arts (SOTA) under leadership and artistic direction of David Boatwright and teacher Ben Moore. Each piece of rice and each bean was hand applied by students and took weeks to complete. The project, organized and funded by Louie’s Kids and Slow Food Charleston, is a true labor of love by many. The mosaic is a collector’s piece for any food and wine lover. NOTE: Auja has lost 64 pounds from the Louie’s Kids program.
