Item Description

Images of tree spirits, angels and snails are painted all along the chair in colors of blues, whites, purples and reds.  The snail represents the sense of the home being carried everywhere and the sense of time, patience, endurance and extraordinary vulnerability.  The tree spirits represent the wonder of wood and all it provides.  The angel is the protector and one without need of physical home.

Item Special Note

About the Artist:

Deidre Crean, an artist who loves to express herself in song and dance, has also shown her painting creativity in the image of whimsical spirits that represent a desire to discover our “home with in.” Deidre was born in Dublin, Ireland but relocated to Midland with her husband John McKelvey. A true love for the outdoors has led Deidre, John and their dog Traveler to explore many magical places in Michigan. Our community has also been blessed by their devotion to the Toni and Trish House, a home for the terminally ill. With Deidre’s artistic expression, it is desired that everyone can discover their own “home with in.”
