Item Description

One Week of creative fun at VISIONS ART CAMP for your child

Utilizing the outdoors as our inspiration, kids will explore such artistic staples as drawingpainting and printmaking, while also discovering innovative art forms like paper-cut relief, clay and tree branch murals, waxed fabric sculpture andother art focused activities with Tracy! The natural world will give us further reason for joy and pride as children play in it (sports!), work with it (in the garden!) and move on it (hiking!) with Tanya.  This camp is for kids who like to makestuff and be outdoors—though not always at the same time!   We will also peek at artists of the past to see ways thatthey have used creative ideas to shape their environment.

Session 1: June 21-25     6-8 and 9-12  yr. olds   9am-4pm

Session 2     June 27—July2    6-8  and 9-12 yr. olds 9am-4pm

Session 3   July 5– 9       6-8 and   9-12 year olds  9am-4pm

Session 4  July 12-16   8-12 year olds (one group only) (9am-2pm)

Tracy LeavittB.F.A., professional artist, storyteller and educator, leads the campers in their art exploits. During the year, she is Artist-in-Residence at many schools, libraries and conferences throughout the Northeast and is the visual arts teacher at High Meadow School.  Tracy has been providing artexperiences through Visions Art Camps for 15 years.

Tanya MilanoM.Ed., is the PE teacher at High Meadow. She graduated from Antioch New England.  Her outdoor leadership is based on the idea that encouraging children’s affinity for the natural world ignites their awareness of themselves as individuals and as responsible caretakers for the earth.
