Item Description

In the early 1980s, the Heitz Family acquired a marvelous Rutherford vineyard bordered on one side by the Silverado Trail and nudged on the other by the Conn Creek.

In 1989, Heitz introduced the Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon --- an opulent wine that consistently expresses its lineage in bold, luscious statements.

“Our Trailside Vineyard produces Cabernet grapes that are incredibly intense and flavorful. We try to enhance that natural bravado during our extended aging process by using new French oak barrels.” David Heitz, Winemaker

The Heitz label become synonymous with grace and elegance in the wine industry and has donned bottles of extraordinary fine wines for more than 40 years.

Heitz Wine Cellars can be found in the eastern hills of St. Helena in a place known as "Spring Valley" to locals. In 1964, Joe and Alice Heitz purchased 160 acres of ranch and winery that became the culmination of their life's work. They produce three remarkable wines that have become the connoisseurs' favorite and coveted commodities: Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and Bella Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon.
