Item Description
In the early 1930's, just after Prohibition, father Gino and Uncle Italo planted a Zinfandel vineyard in Alexander Valley. The vineyard didn't fare well during the Depression, but in 2006, the family asked cousin Ed Sbragia to start crushing the grapes again, and his dream of Sbragia Family Vineyard was fulfilled.
Sbragia is offering two bottles of the their 2006 wine called Italo's Vineyard Zinfandel, named for Uncle Italo who farmed the family land. It's a blend of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, aged in French oak barrels, imparting cedar and brown spice aromas. Its good structure is supported by dried herbs and floral aromas, with black fruit characteristics and a hint of orange peel.
Also offered is their 2008 Schmidt Ranch Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Creek Valley. The Ranch is a sustainably-farmed vineyard and produces a wine bursting with ripe tropical flavors of carmelized bananas and pineapple, and elegant aromas of citrus and melon.
This Offer: Two Bottles Schmidt Ranch 2008 Sauvignon Blanc and Two Bottle 2006 Italo's Vineyard Zinfandel.
