Item Description
Materials/ Description of Process: Fade resistant markers, laser paper. Ms. Duffy's 3rd graders were shocked to find out that Chicago is home to so many neighborhoods! Through exploring the neighborhoods of Chicago and creating a Chicago neighborhood map, they learned about typography and figured out how to make words into shapes and images. In the final piece, line-art was produced on a computer for the outlines of the neighborhoods and the word, CHICAGO. The remaining work was hand-drawn and colored on 24 x 30 laser paper with non-toxic, fade resistant markers. This artistic creation is a tribute to the diversity of Chicago from North to South and East to West. It is certainly a treasure for any Chicagoan's home!
