About the artist:
The mainland of the North American continent was first sighted by the Spanish explorer Don Juan Ponce de Leon on Easter, March 27, 1513. He claimed the land for Spain and named it La Florida, meaning "Land of Flowers." St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, holds the distinction of being one of the nation's most charming cities also known as the "Ancient City." Founded by the Spanish, it pre-dates the landing of the Pilgrims in 1620 and even the Jamestown settlement in 1607. The letters in your picture were taken by St. Augustine resident Lisa Barrett. All the pictures are captured from architectural structures in the ancient city.
