Item Description
LITERARILY SPEAKING
Get the straight 411 on what it takes to be a member of the PH Literary Department. Begin by learning how to read a play - sounds simple enough - but our staff will show you how to delve into the text and evaluate the work of an emerging writer. Next, attend a developmental play reading alongside Director of New Play Development Adam Greenfield and Literary Assistant Alec Strum. Finally, discuss what you've learned in a meeting with the entire Literary staff. By day's end, you've completed your crash course in how to support writers at all levels, and trust us, you won’t find better teachers than our dedicated PH staff!
Enjoy an audio preview of literary life! Download a podcast (6:00) of Playwrights Horizons' Literary Manager Adam Greenfield discussing the play submission and selection process HERE.
