Item Description
Here are 12 bottles of premium wine, valued at $40-$125 each, presented in a wooden winechest, all donated by OPAL supporters from their own wine cellars. The collection includes:
1997 Archery Summit Pinot Noir, "The Rolls Royce of Oregon Pinot", Value $100-$125
2002 Gloria Ferrar Gravel Knob Pinot Noir, from Sonoma CA: $40 value. "Appealing for its soft, silky texture. . ."
2007 Brick House Pinot Noir from Newburg, OR; $45 value. A standout Oregon Pinot.
2006 Cameron Clos Electrique Pinot Noir; $55 value. A rich and complex wine from a small organic winery.
2006 Cameron Abbey Ridge Pinot Noir; $55 value. A second wine from this same small organic winery, said to have hints of 'black cherry, cinnamon, and cloves.'
1978 Rodney Strong Pinot Noir, Sonoma Co, CA: value $75. A rich, deep Pinot. This bottle has been part of a private collection for many years; the vintage is otherwise not available.
1996 Boisset Merlot, Pays Doc France, Value $45. Velvety texture, with deep, dark berry fruit tones. Not widely available.
2004 Steele Stymie Founder's Reserve, Syrah, Lake County, California. Value $45-50. A very limited-edition vintage from one of California's best winemakers.
2005 Leonetti Cellar Merlot, Columbia Valley, Washington. Value $85 and up. 2005 was a particularly fine year for Washington wines, and this dark Merlot has a "pure nose of exotic floral aromas."
1998 Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Value $100. A wine that appears often on the wine lists of high-end restaurants, said to be particularly good with steak.
2002 Ken Wright Cellars, Canary Hill Pinot Noir, value $40-$50. Both smooth and complex.
2007 Merry Edwards Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, CA. Value: $57. "The aroma is like a trip through the countryside with ripe blueberries, blackberries, boysenberries, all joining in the medley."
