FRENCH CONNECTION

Author and eminent art historian Aimée Brown Price is offering a private tour for eight of the 19th Century European Galleries at the MET.  These galleries include the paintings of influential French painter Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, co-founder of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and subject of Dr. Price's most recent book.  Price, an authority on Puvis de Chavannes as well as other nineteenth-century artists, received her Ph.D. from Yale University and has lectured nationally and internationally at Oxford, Cambridge, and Princeton; the National Gallery of Art, London; the Power Institute, Sydney; and the Institut d'art et d'archéologie, Paris.
