Four class cards for your choice of: adult or kids capoeira, samba, zumba, salsa, flamenco, tango, at Roda, the DC area's premiere studio dedicated to Brazilian and Latino movements. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian blend of martial art, game, and culture created by enslaved Africans in Brazil during the 16th Century. Through this class students will focus on learning basic and advanced corporal techniques of Capoeira including acrobatic movements as well as the necessary rhythms and songs, including, drums, Berimbau and tambourine. Zumba (a Colombian word meaning to move fast and have fun) is a fitness program inspired by Latin dance. It combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. Each Zumba class includes a mix of music, such as Reggeaton, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Samba and even Hip-Hop, providing the student with an energetic and engaging class from start to finish. Located in Takoma Park, MD, Roda has many experienced instructors, offers parking and is metro accessible.
