Item Description
Mark Romero created this mask in honor of his cousin Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Jr., who was killed on June 28, 2005 when his 10-member SEAL Team, assigned to kill or capture a high-ranking Taliban leader in Afghanistan encountered a fierce gun battle. Mark, former lead artist and co-owner of Licksore Masks, draws his inspiration from the city of Denver and his cousin, Danny. “The sub on the water represents a journey into the black unknown; an anchor symbolizes stationary,” says Mark. “The stripes of the U.S. flag stand for pride. One line crosses the desert where a soldier walks; the other stands for those overseas.”
