Jennifer lived in the outback setting of the novel. Her mask was inspired by novel?s character, Jimmy Jackboy, and is painted with the aboriginal symbols of Jimmy, another character, Donna and their ancestoral spirit. Through their eyes, the reader sees the transformative power of the Australian landscape and the potency of the ancient aboriginal wisdom.
