Carmelo Kiyan Anthony (born May 29, 1984), nicknamed "Melo", is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Anthony left Syracuse University after one season to enter the 2003 NBA Draft, where was selected as the third pick by the Nuggets. Since entering the league, Anthony has emerged as one of the most well-known and popular players in the league. He was named to the All-Rookie team, NBA Rookie Challenge MVP and has been both All-NBA and an All-Star three times. Anthony has also led the Nuggets to two division titles and to the playoffs every season since his rookie year. As a member of the USA national team, Anthony won a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and gold at the 2008 Olympics.
