Item Description
You are bidding on the Ace of Diamonds, a 19 x 25 inch (including frame)(actual piece measures 13.5 x 20.5) watercolor, gouache and ink painting by Andrew MacRae.
This work has an estimated value of $350.
Proceeds of the sale sof this work will go to the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), and organization that works to integrate arts and culture in all aspects of community life. RACC has served the Portland tri-county area since its inception in 1995, when the city’s Metropolitan Arts Commission transitioned into a separate not-for-profit organization based upon the recommendation of ArtsPlan 2000+.
Andrew MacRae was a child of the 80's, where his imagination wrapped around cartoons and video games. Inspired by the excessive opaque colorfields, he started creating images in a similar manner leading up to a degree in art form Humboldt State university. Andrew has always had a love for the outdoors and recently started to incorporate scenes of the wilderness into his pieces juxtaposing two seemingly different worlds. An emerging artist, Andrew has shown in galleries spanning California to South Carolina and worked with the website 20x200.com to sell prints of work. He has a true love of art and plans to teach it at some point in the future. To see more work , you can visit www.admacrae.com or find him on facebook: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1577686238
Item Special Note
THE FINE PRINT:
Please note that the description above was submitted by the artist. Also note that the image depicted with the listing is the image used in the Portland Project Deck ... which may be slightly different from the original artwork you are bidding on. The original artwork also may have had additional aspects or features digitally added to prepare it for inclusion in the deck. In some listings (but not all) we have mentioned differences between the card image and the original artwork, but in all cases you take final responsibility to be comfortable with the piece of art you are bidding on. If you have any questions about the difference between the image and the original piece, we encourage you to see the actual piece of art in person before you bid (they are all even more incredible live). In all cases the artwork is ready to hang but the pieces vary in terms of framing, attached hardware, etc. To find out where you can view the actual artwork, visit www.facebook.com/artinhandpdx or view the home page of the auction where we have all the showings listed. If you are the winning bidder we will expect you to make arrangements to have your art picked up either between 9-10pm at the closing reception Saturday evening May 22 or over the following couple of days at Splendorporium (3421 SE 21st Ave) between 11am and 5pm. If you prefer the artwork to be shipped, expect to pay actual packing and shipping costs (which will vary for each item depending the size, framing, etc.) plus a $25 handling fee. Note that this could get expensive, so we encourage you to make arrangements to have it picked up locally. Note that we will not pre-calculate packing and shipping. Although the auction requires you to register a credit card to bid, we will NOT automatically bill your card if you are a winning bidder, as we would prefer to collect your payment by check or cash when you pick up your artwork. You will receive notice from us if you are the winning bidder with your options.
