Item Description

You are bidding on the Three of Clubs, an 11 inch by 14 inch photograph by Larry Cwik.

This work has an estimated value of $150.

Proceeds from the sale of this piece will benefit p:ear, an organization created to build positive relationships with homeless and transitional youth, ages 15 to 24, through education, art and recreation to affirm personal worth and create more meaningful and healthier lives. The piece is from Cwik's ongoing Industrial District series, started in 1982, and is a new image, from December 2009, taken in the Guilds Lake Industrial District of Northwest Portland, an area used historically, in 1905, for the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition, which featured exhibits by more than two dozen nations.  Larry grew up in Pittsburgh, and was inspired by industrial scenes there when Pittsburgh was still an industrial and steel manufacturing center.  Larry’s works are included in the collections of the Portland Art Museum, Bank of America, and Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, and have been widely exhibited in more than a twenty solo exhibits and more than 80 group exhibits since 1983, including at Blue Sky Gallery and Blackfish Gallery, Portland, the William Traver Gallery, Seattle, Tacoma Art Museum, Galeria 57, Madrid, and Rena Bransten Gallery, San Francisco.  Larry has lived in Portland since 1982 and loves it. For more information about Larry, you can visit www.larrycwik.com.

Please note that the original art work does not have the three or club image as it was added digitally.

Although the auction requires you to register a credit card to bid, we will NOT automatically bill your card if you are a winning bidder, as we would prefer to collect your payment by check or cash when you pick up your artwork.  You will receive notice from us if you are the winning bidder with your options.
