Set in West Virginia in 1962, “The Burnt Part Boys” is a coming-of-age story centering on a group of teen-agers whose fathers were killed 10 years earlier in a coal-mining accident, and their actions after they learn that the mine is to be re-opened.
The show features a mix of bluegrass and pop music, according to a statement from the theaters; the book is by Mariana Elder, the lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and the music by Chris Miller.
