Sample Itinerary

All of our trips include one day in Food For The Poor’s Florida office. The first day will include lunch, orientation of what to expect on the trip, and transportation to your hotel.

Monday

  • Arrive at the Ft. Lauderdale or Miami Airport
  • Transfer to our Coconut Creek office for lunch, orientation and tour
  • Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay
  • Dinner at the hotel

Tuesday

  • Depart Ft. Lauderdale or Miami Airport (early morning flight)
  • Arrive in Kingston
  • Open Arms Drop-In Center
  • Glenhope Place of Safety for Girls
  • Food For The Poor Complex — tour and lunch
  • Housing community
  • Jerusalem! for disabled adults and Dare to Care — kids with HIV
  • Check in to hotel/retreat center, dinner followed by a reflection meeting

Wednesday

  • Breakfast at hotel/retreat center
  • Poor Relief Homeless Shelter — serve breakfast
  • Alpha Boys Home
  • House painting/construction, school refurbishment, or agriculture project
  • Lunch
  • Dinner at hotel/retreat center followed by a reflection meeting

Thursday

  • Breakfast at hotel/retreat center
  • House painting/construction, school refurbishment, or agriculture project
  • Lunch
  • Golden Age Home for the mentally and physically disabled
  • Dinner at hotel/retreat center followed by a reflection meeting

Friday

  • Breakfast at hotel/retreat center
  • Check out of hotel and depart for airport
  • Arrive in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami to catch connecting flights home
