BIOGRAPHY
Although she began her career as a solitary artist creating garment-related projects, designer Bettina Hubby has since expanded her practices, finding innovative ways to exhibit, create and collaborate. This is epitomized in her creation of HubbyCo., a company that emphasizes the production of new projects and events that involve different artists, artistic practices and areas of interest. Since 1993 Hubby has participated in many exhibitions throughout New York and Los Angeles, most recently at the Company Gallery (2009) and Manifest Equality (2010) in Los Angeles. In addition to her solo projects and exhibition history, she has taken on the role of curator, presenting shows for Four Walls (1997) and The Anchorage (1998) in New York, and for Horowitz, Ferrini, and Biondi (2003) and Circus Gallery (2008) in Los Angeles, and most recently, a multi-location bus tour of Los Angeles featuring over 30 artists and performers (2008). Hubby received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
