BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Zago is an architect and founder of Zago Architecture in Detroit and Los Angeles. He is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, and the United States Artists and a recipient of an Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Zago’s design for the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit was praised by Nicolai Oursoff in The New York Times as signaling “a profound rethinking of what constitutes urban revitalization” that “could succeed where large-scale development has so far failed.” Zago is the former Director of the Graduate Program in Architecture at City College of New York. He has also taught at Cornell, Ohio State, UCLA and he is currently part of the design faculty at SCI-Arc. His work is in the collections of MOMA, New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He received his Master of Architecture from Harvard University and his BFA from the University of Michigan.
