BIOGRAPHY
Gary Garay uses the homespun vernacular of street vendor advertising, cultural icons, and visual slang to comment on themes such as consumerism and cultural integration. He has exhibited widely on the West Coast, in venues such as LACMA, Mendenhall Sobieski Gallery in Pasadena, Black Maria and New Image Art Gallery in Los Angeles, among others. He received his BFA from Art Center College of Design and he resides in Los Angeles.
