BIOGRAPHY
"Paintings are visual objects. Usually we think of the 'object' part as supporting the 'visual,' of the wooden stretcher and canvas as just being there to hold up the image that we are meant to see. But those two different aspects can play with or against each other to open other thoughts or yield different problems." -Artist statement

Ken Weathersby's paintings were recently included in The National Academy of Art Museum's 183rd Annual: An Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary American Art in New York; Continuing Color Abstraction at The Painting Center in New York; Postconceptualism at Moderno in Washington, D.C., Korus Project at Hun Gallery, New York; Calculating Art: Mathematics in the Visual Field at Maloney Art Gallery at the College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown. His paintings were recently featured in New American Paintings and his work is currently featured in a solo show at Pierogi gallery in Brooklyn. He is the recipient of a Mid-Atlantic Arts / New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship in Painting. Weathersby received an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is based in New York.
