BIOGRAPHY
Marsha Ginsberg works in the interdisciplinary overlap between design for theater and opera, installation art and photography. Her work for the stage has been presented throughout Europe and the U.S. at venues such as Spoleto Festival USA; Theater Basel, Switzerland; National Theater, Weimar; Athens Epidaurus Festival; Glimmerglass Opera; Theaterhaus Jena; Thalia Theater, Hamburg; National Theater Mannheim; and Foundry Theater, among others. She recently designed the environment for HABIT at Robert Wilson's Watermill Center.  While living in Los Angeles, she established Studio Allied Prosthetics to produce art installations and photographic work. As a visual artist she has participated in solo and group exhibitions, including Pavlov's Lab and other rooms, a solo exhibition at Magnus Muller Gallery in Berlin, and Design Life Now, a national design triennial that originated at The Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York and traveled to the ICA Boston and the Contemporary Art Museum, Houston . She was awarded an NEA Fellowship in 1992. Ginsberg received a BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art, an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and she did post-graduate work at the Whitney Independent Study Studio program. She lives and works in New York.
